What wood are your cutting boards made from?
We work with bamboo and hardwood boards in a range of sizes, from small 11x8 charcuterie boards up to 12x18 bamboo boards. Bamboo engraves to a clean mid-brown contrast; darker hardwoods give a deeper burn.
Is an engraved cutting board still food safe?
Yes. Engraving removes a thin layer of the wood itself rather than adding anything to the surface, so nothing is introduced that was not already there. We recommend keeping engraved boards for serving and hand-washing them; see our after-care guide for oiling.
Can you engrave a recipe or handwriting onto a board?
Yes, and it is one of our most requested pieces. Send a photo of the handwritten recipe or note; we redraw it for the laser and show you a proof on the board's actual dimensions before anything is cut.
How long does a custom board take?
Most boards are ready in 3 to 5 business days after you approve your proof. If you need one for a specific wedding or anniversary date, tell us the date up front and we will confirm before you order.
